Many bakers gather at the amphitheatre. Grumio and Clemens hurry to this crowd.

Distributor: "Hurry! Hurry! We are waiting for Afer."

Grumio: "Be quiet, wretched slave!"

Distributor: "Torches are very useful. Holconius and his friends are in the forum."

Baker: "Look! Afer is here! Afer is coming!" (Afer and his supporters hurry through the streets to the forum.)
