The Hunt
The Hunt
After the net-fighters departed from the arena, the trumpet sounded again. Suddenly, many deer entered the arena. The deer were running through the whole arena because they were terrified. Then fierce dogs entered through the gate. The dogs immediately chased and killed the terrified deer. After the dogs overcame the deer, wolves entered the arena. The wolves, because they were very hungry, fiercely attacked the dogs. The dogs were very strong, but the wolves easily overcame them. The Nucerians were very happy and praised Regulus. However, the Pompeians were not satisfied and shouted, “Where are the lions? Why does Regulus keep the lions?” Regulus, after hearing this shout, gave the signal. Immediately, three lions rushed through the gate. The trumpet sounded again. The beast-fighters boldly entered the arena. However, the lions did not attack the beast-fighters. The lions lay down in the arena. The lions were sleeping! Then the Pompeians were extremely angry because Regulus was putting on a ridiculous show. The Pompeians drove Regulus and the Nucerians out of the amphitheatre. The Nucerians were fleeing through the streets because they were very scared. However, the Pompeians took up swords and killed many Nucerians. Look! Blood was flowing not in the arena but through the streets.
