The Barber

The barber

The barber is working in the shop. The barber is Pantagathus. Caecilius enters. "Hello, barber!" says Caecilius. "Hello!" responds Pantagathus. The barber is busy. An old man is sitting in the chair. Pantagathus holds a razor and is trimming the beard. The old man is watching the razor attentively. A poet enters the shop. The poet stands in the shop and recites a verse. The verse is funny. Caecilius laughs. But the barber does not laugh. The barber is angry. "Scoundrel! Scoundrel!" shouts Pantagathus. The old man is terrified. The barber does not trim the beard. The barber cuts the old man. Much blood flows. Caecilius gets up and exits the shop.
