Bold Quintus
The Bold Quintus
Caecilius and Quintus were sitting in the study. Caecilius invited his son to the hunt. “The fiercest wild boar lives on Mount Vesuvius,” said Caecilius. “Many citizens are coming to the hunt. The slaves and dogs are ready. Felix is also coming because he is bold. The wild boar does not frighten him.” Quintus was very happy. He took his hunting spear and hurried to the hunt. Everyone proceeded to the mountain where the wild boar lived. Soon they entered a great forest. The slaves urged on the dogs. The dogs were barking loudly. Suddenly, a huge wild boar appeared. It frightened Caecilius and the citizens. Felix threw his spear, but he did not hit the boar. The freedman, because the boar was attacking him, despaired for his life. Everyone was very afraid. However, Quintus boldly approached the boar and threw his spear. Look! He killed the boar. “Hooray!” shouted Quintus. “Once Felix saved me. Now I save Felix!”
